Privacy Policy.

Effective April 27, 2026

What this covers

This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights. It applies to everyone who uses Teaming Up: Account Owners, coaches, support staff, athletes, parents, and guardians. We use plain language wherever possible. Teaming Up is offered to schools in the United States only.

Information we collect

Account information. Name, email, role (Account Owner, coach, player, parent, etc.), and the school you're associated with. For Account Owners and coaches, we may also collect a phone number and title.

Roster and program data. The information your school enters into the platform: schedules, rosters, depth charts, attendance, injuries, equipment assignments, compliance forms, messages, and announcements.

Payment information. Card details for school subscription billing are handled by our payment processor (Stripe). Teaming Up does not store full card numbers. Schools that collect payments from parents through the platform have a separate Stripe Connect account; we receive and store the metadata necessary to operate that flow.

Device and usage data. When you use Teaming Up, we log basic technical information (IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, actions taken) to keep the Service running, prevent abuse, and improve features.

How we use information

We use the information above to: (a) operate the Service for your school; (b) authenticate users and enforce permissions; (c) deliver notifications you've opted into (push, email, SMS); (d) process payments; (e) detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unsafe content; (f) provide customer support; and (g) improve the Service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your school's content to train AI models.

Athlete and minor protections

Teaming Up is used by minors as part of school-supervised athletic programs. Athlete accounts are scoped to their team and group memberships and cannot send messages across schools. Athlete messages are filtered by an AI moderation layer; flagged messages may be blocked or escalated to coaches, the Account Owner, or appropriate school administrators. Parents and guardians have visibility into their athlete's activity in real time. Schools are responsible for obtaining any consents required by law (including FERPA, COPPA, and state-equivalent statutes) before adding minors.

When we share information

We share information only when necessary to operate the Service:
  • With other users in your school, per the role-based permission model.
  • With infrastructure vendors (Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Twilio, Expo, Anthropic) who process data on our behalf under written agreements limiting their use to providing the Service.
  • When required by law or to protect the safety of users (for example, in response to a valid legal request, or when we believe content presents an imminent risk of harm).
  • In the event of a business transfer (acquisition, merger), subject to continued protection under this policy or its successor.
We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep information

We keep account and program data for as long as the school has an active Teaming Up subscription, plus a reasonable period after termination to allow export. Messages are retained as legal evidence as long as the school account remains active. After deletion, residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being purged.

Your rights

You can request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing support@teamingup.app. If you live in a U.S. state with comprehensive privacy rights (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or other states with similar laws), those rights also apply, and we will honor verifiable requests within the timelines required by law.

Security

We protect data with TLS in transit, encryption at rest, role-based access controls in the application layer, row-level security at the database layer, audit logging on sensitive tables, and a vetted set of vendor subprocessors. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever experience a security incident affecting your data, we will notify affected schools and individuals as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify Account Owners by email and post a notice in the app before the change takes effect.
